i just got a Garmin 265T how do I load up latest maps, do you copy and paste the addresses and then what, i never tried this before . thanks a lot.

howya doin ledzep! k, i had a look around the garmin site support (cuz i don't have the unit or software myself) to see what i could find for you and they seem to say that the way to update the maps in your nuvi (?) is to put the dvd you purchased into your computer and it will walk you through it... presumably the dvd will ask ya to connect the nuvi using the usb cable and then it will do it's own dance to update the database on the unit...

i think the copy & paste thing might just apply to the smartcard, where you can ad pics and stuff, i don't think that procedure will update the actual maps in the nuvi... i'm not sure though.

does that sound logical? not sure here cuz i don't have the 265T to test it out...

Has anybody tried to update thiere Garmin unit? Did you need a passcode or other code in order to be able to update?

I tried to update but got hung up on the unlocking part. I must be missing a step. I got the generated serial #
All the instructions are with the download but I gave up for now.
Note - I did notice that the 2010 version is out now also. I didn't try to get it though.
