Vortex 3500s Help...

I just got a Vortex 3500s from a friend and im been having some trouble with it,i disconected the cable from my Viewsat xtreme and connected to my Vortex just to see if it is working i install the newest fix but i got a good signal and no quality at all i used the same conf.that i have in my VSxtreme can someone help me? thanks
