Received the new KBox plus today, downloaded all the files into the box.
Followed all the setup instructions, everything going great until i tried to update the Guide Listings.
" Press EPG on the remote and press the small yellow button on the remote and leave it like that for about 10-15 minutes." message on tv reads " processing, please wait ".
That was about 2-1/2 hrs ago and its still processing.

Try shutting it off, leave for a couple of minutes, then power on. It sometimes takes 3-5 minutes but not hours. But before you start it back up make sure to remove the usb drive. Also, if this does not work, go to main menu, down to utilities press ok, then right arrow and down to system info and press ok - you should see:
model k1 heros +
loader version l 1.00.00
hardware verson ftv01 1.00.00
application verson 1.74.00
build date jan 20 2009
Anyway check this out but then again we just did the sat san and it all came in without the epg updte?
Lol

I haven't had to update the epg either. It loads on it's own. After you load a new file leave it on channel that carries the epg info on what ever sat you are watching for about 5 minutes and the epg should load on it's own. Also remember that if you are turning the unit OFF via the rear power button the unit will lose the epg info and have to be reloaded, always turn the unit OFF via the remote.

Thanks for all comments and info, unit is up and running, sort of.
It's keeps cutting out from the program i'm watching and changes to
"processing, please wait" and then comes back on after a few seconds and does it again.
Any info or fixes

This is your new k1plus right. If so I would call the store where you turned in your older unit and let them know what you are experiencing. During the upgrade program with us we now have our 2nd unit as the first one acted strange. Just give them a call, If they are like the store we deal with - I'm sure there will be no problem with another exchange. If they act wierd about it, we deal with transat electronics, numerous locations in Canada. Look at the kbox home page, then k1upgrade, choose canada or usa for dealers. None of them seem to worry about taking them back and giving you a new one. The one dealer said that it is a franchise so there is no problems with defective unit returns. lol

Thanks, but i think i have it running ok now, reloaded the latest patch and it seems to be working.
One other question, i'm also running a Captive Works 800 and it scans in more channels then the KBox, wife likes the Si-Fi channel and the Kbox did'nt scan that in. Is there away to add this.
Thanks for the help

Just for interest what number is that. Wondering if we get it here or not? A friend of ours lives about 20 minutes away. He has the kbox + aswell. We get just under 800 channels. His 110 & 119 boom right in (97\98% on both) but he can only seem to watch about 25 channels. So I guess we will have to go and check his out. Hopefully he has a bad switch. Let me know please about the channel number. Chore time - lambs are cold. Check with you later

Channel 122, Si Fi
My Captive Works 800 scans in 238 tv channels and the KBox Plus 171, at one time the KBox Heros scanned in about 273 i believe
This sat dish is pointed at 119 only and signal /quality levels are around 90.
