Ok now I have to ask, whats the Scuttlebutt on the Rum. I mean what is your favorite and how do you take it. I need to know if you go so far to even cook with it.
You all talk a lot about it, now out with the details. I will start.

English Harbor from Antigua, aged 5 years Matured in small oak barrels. I like it neet.
I use Myers dark for a killer flourless chocolate cake. Do not ask for the recipe as I will not post it. I may do a cook book some day.

Ok who wants to share. I am looking to try some new stuff.

The Captain spiced of course........ lol
In the AM I use it in the coffee instead of cream and on the frosted flakes.... The cerial mix tastes a lot better after about 5 or 6 cups of coffee..... THen lunch .. put it in the chicken noodle soup.... does the body good..... THen supper.... Oh hell yeah.... Rum and coke with rum basted hambergers on the grill..... Ya get the picture?....... For bedtime rum and tramadol..... THen lights out till breakfast..... Yeah that is the most important drunk of hte day or is it meal..... oh well there you have it

I will have to look for this one. My state liquor store may not carry such a nice rum as this. I see that they have a 21yr old rum and soon to release a 30 year old as well. Boy would I like to get my hands on a bottle of 30 year old rum. Must be better than a fine cognac.

Tortuga Bay Vanilla Rum can only be bought in the Caribe. Is excellent, very smooth and can be drank alone when chilled.

The Captain spiced is by far my favorite, but when I want some serious time with my rum bottle, I break out out my Stroh 180, the 180 proof gets me to happy land in a hurry.:new_all_c

australia also had a rum guzzling polarbear

1961 - Square bottle and Buddy R. Bear are born.
Sam McMahon (Bill McMahon's brother) invented the square bottle, the three piece yellow label and the polar bear. McMahon believed the Polar Bear would imply this drink would ward of the coldest chill of winter, and thus help the marketing of the product in the southern states of Australia.

Wonder how hard it would be to get a bottle of the polar Bear rum. Anyone know of an imported who could have some brought in?

Yes that is the name of my favorite rum. Last I knew it could only be had in Newfoundland Canada. Still have a small bit in a 5 yr old bottle.
