Gramps here............nice to see you spreading yourself out a bit more..what you really need is 2 or 3 more dishes...then you would have a real ant farm. I think you will like the CW600S....a bit different to set up from the Viewsat but well worth it...now when are you going to return mine?

i must say i would like to know some more about the CW600 as i dont really find myself interested in the CS5000 have seen them and used them they are good receivers but i have been looking at the CW600 and im going to buy one as it seems they have a few good qualitys , such as and correct me if im wrong anyone please jump in on this these are the good qualitys i have heard about,

one is blind scan that works another is auto switch detect with a good epg and quality reliable bins , with auto tp that really works if anyone has any info on any of this being incorrect please feel free to correct me ,

this is the main reasons for me to test the CW600 and been thinking about the new ariza too reports on it would be nice toooooo ,

thanks in advance for any and all replys , one thing i would like is someone who has both the veiwsat 2000/platinum to compare either of the two receivers i have mentioned side by side and let me know the results you find meaning i know veiwsat releases a new bin every day or so (but) the bins are a litle buggy and would like to have a couple other options i have three veiwsat platinums and a few freinds has offered to buy a receiver back in place of one of them , although i want to keep one of them i would probably let the other two go since the files they are testing now are kinda tested behind before released ,

i have ordered a new 1022a twin han for my testing now as i find it more tester freindly lol well atleast i can test on it , to some degree , its hard to put testing on tha back burner after you have done it for years and years ,

aww some thoughts this one is getting long again now so im out any comparisons would be great even include PQ if possible , thanks in advance

well i will try and keep all posted as i can on these. hey pro if you get one make sure that you run sky software it is alot nicer as for the comparing of the vs to cw600 i love my vs i think it was the easyest to setup but the 600 does have auto detect stuff wich is cool and when numbers roll it will pop up on the screeen showing new numbers kinda neat have not had to much time playing with this one yet only when i am on here do i check it out as the tv is in the puter room and only one provider in here

I have both the VS platinum and Skyview RX600 (same as Captiveworks 600). Right now I would rate the Skyview over VS plat. The VS has too many little problems that hasn't been fix. Don't get me wrong, the support has been great but after V1019 there seems to be something wrong with every new bin they release. To their credit they are trying to fix it, but it's annoying when you can't watch TV. Until they get it all work out, VS is very low on my list.

The Skyview on the other hand has been up and running with bin 1.77 for over a week with no problems at all for me. Auto roll works and when keys change they notify you, I like that alot. Auto TP works for me as some report it don't work. Another nice feature is the full channel name, it's nice for football season they tell you which is ABC, NBC, CBS and etc (other areas local). The auto sat detect didn't work for me because I think I have too many sats hook up to the receiver, 7 sats (82,91,97,101,110,119,121). Overall I think the Skyview/Captiveworks team is on it's way to the top of FTA receivers. No other company can match their support and price.

I really like the Skyview RX600 and just ordered 12 more ($110 each, free shipping) for friends and family, also have a coolsat 5000 comming I hope it's a great box like everyone said.

one thing i am concerned about more than any with the CW600 is how is the guide i want a receiver that functions well in almost every way the veiwsat has its problems and i have three of them going to be making and addition to the team lol and wander about the guide i didnt think a lot of the 5000 as it just didnt seem to do it for me , anyone feel free to answer as i am open to all revues,

as to an earlier post on the veiwsat haveing its problems i would have to agree as it does have many little flaws , although i think the coders are haveiing a hard time trying to make the softwear work with the hardware more of that problem than any i like my veiwsats but man the have bugs , and untill yuor very used to them you have a lot of problems , its a software to hardware problem i think the veiwsat has although they are still a fine box in there respect and the coder/coders are working hard to provide quality bins and good support,

so guys tell my plz, since there is description "TRUE HARDWARE BLINDSCAN" that means if providers change their keys vs-extreme will automatically adjust or do i have to reprogram it every time they change keys? that is the MAIN factor for me. i just dont want to spend like every-friday-evening on re-programming.

thanks a lot for your help.

true blind scan has nothing to do with the receiver grabbing the keys the vs 2000 does this well as it auto rolls without problems they had a couple issues before with auto roll but have since cleared that up but it was also a problem on the Extreme aswelll , had to do with some fake key packets but should be resolved now , the forums are always a buzz with the veiwsats and i would have to say te support has been awesome so far,

both receivers do well (blind scan) that you refer to is more likely to be used with FTA and not anything else although i do like a receiver that has a good blind scan i havent tried the blind scan on the extreme although the blind scan on the vs2000 is horrid at best and doesnt work very well this is one of the biggest things i find wrong with the vs2000 but other than that it works well for me ,

i dont like to stear anyone on which receiver to buy the one thing i would recomend is do not buy a clone as you would be surely on the wrong end of the stick in the end ,

really appreciate ur help. tell me what would u buy after all.
i know that is kind of dump question but since u have much more experience what would u recommend for new FTA user, i mean like user-friendly and maintenance-free same time.
