i'm currently running a pansat 2500 with a dp 500 set up with the cable running straight from the lnb to the receiver. now that i'm getting a new receiver can i run the other receiver straight from the other lnb to the new receiver or do i have use a 4x1 switch then for both receivers

If it is a Dishpro all you need do is run coax from the other output on the LNB right to the new receiver. Same configuration 119 = port1 110 = port2

sweet! thanks redeye i just hope the viewsat is easy to set up, i saw some thread in al7 where coolsat owners were saying viewsat isn't as good yade yade etc.

Indeed Ned, I wouldn't worry much about the naysayers. Especially the ones who try to say theirs is better by tearing down yours.
Viewsat is a very good product. Just load the 1039 or the 1040 if it is released and do your scan.
You will be pleased.
